In June 2009, Mini started a program to lease 500 2008 Model Year units in the United States. 250 units are leased in Los Angeles area and 250 in New York/New Jersey area. The lease will end in one year and the cost is $850 a month. Residents in New Jersey do not have to pay sales tax on their lease."
